For this week’s Artist Spotlight, we’re thrilled to showcase the work of long-time illustrator Alan Witschonke.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Alan has become well-known for his realism illustrations and use of acrylic and digital techniques. His editorial, advertising, book publishing and corporate artwork has been created for a number of notable clients such as the Rolling Stone, National Geographic, Cooks Illustrated, Random House and the Boston Red Sox.
Alan’s enthralling work has received resounding recognition from the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts and other industry publications. He has also taught at Harvard University and the Art Institute of Boston, whilst giving lectures and presenting his work to schools, museums, libraries and professional organizations throughout New England.
In addition to his illustration work, Alan also works as a portrait painter. Recently, he completed a large commissioned painting for the Boston Medical Library at Harvard Medical School (shown below).
