Once again I’m behind on #marchmeetthemaker. Combining days: 23- recent make, 26- why I do this, 27-goals. I’m working on my most recent make. Yesterday I made the sketch of a famous animal pun (maybe you can take a guess) and I’m in the process of doing the final. Sorry, my big head is in the way. The Famous Animals In History series is one I started 3 years ago this fall. I keep making them because I love word play and making people chuckle. My goal is to have a book made.

There will be loads of other vendors (art, fashion, food/drink) and workshops!

Day 21 #marchmeetthemaker: inspiration! Using the multiple-photo feature! I think I get my humor from reading a ton of Farside and Calvin and Hobbes, and Roald DahI. I love Edward Gorey’s quirky dark humor. And Quentin Blake is my illustration hero. I’m also inspired by ethnic textiles, bright colors, plants, and handmade sculptural objects. My living and work space have all kinds of things hanging on the walls or from the ceiling that serve as a reminder to make and be creative.

And now I am officially caught up on my meet the maker days…At least for now. 😆
