Comfort Food (September): Peanut Butter & Jelly

On a rough day getting used to school again, nothing can comfort like a good old pbj from mom or dad. When it comes to this dietary staple of the 12 and under set, there are two ways to go: gourmet or reality.

For the gourmet option, bake up some home made bread. Then add strawberry jam form the summer garden. Finish it off with a great organic peanut butter (the kind with only one ingredient:peanuts).

Reality might dictate a more pragmatic approach like the one I grew up with. Wonder Bread, Welch’s preserves, and Jiff.

Whatever you can put together between homework help and carpools is sure to become a lifelong favorite.
