For my Illustration in Context class, in my Illustration MFA program, we had to do a portrait for a magazine cover. The catch was that it needed to be influenced by an illustrator we studied in class and the portrait needed to be of someone who was an important figure during the time the illustrator was most prominent. I decided to do a portrait of Richard Nixon, influenced by R. Crumb, for Mad Magazine. I thought I’d use this as a daily drawing because it was fun to do, and I thought I’d share.
