In this film “Funny Bones” artist John Kascht gives us a behind the scenes look at the creation of his portrait of Conan O’ Brien, explaining his artistic process and approach to caricature.
At a 27 minute running time, I thought I would never sit and watch the whole thing, but I did, pretty fascinating stuff. The extensive research, time and access to the subject in this film is unheard of in the commercial art world normally. The connection to the National Portrait Gallery provided those welcome bonuses.
