Blue Macaw by Paige Weber
You might think that a skateboard is a weird space to paint an exotic bird, but I beg to differ. ANY place is a great place to paint our feathered and four-legged friends. This isn’t the tole painting of yore. It’s a little edge-meets-fine art.
I’ve been inspired by mural work this year and have truly enjoyed getting back to analog painting. At some point in the process I can stop and walk away, picking up the paintbrush another day. When I am digitally painting, I will paint until my eyes are crossing and bloodshot.
This painting took a little over a month (over 50 hours) to complete. I wanted to keep exploring the wildlife theme I have been studying this year. I am fascinated by the beauty of birds and animals.
I used spray paint and Golden fluid acrylics to create this majestic Macaw and hope to keep painting. You can find my original paintings and prints over at www.ihavegumption.com
