I had the pleasure of doing some portraits for a special edition of the French newspaper, Le Monde. This issue, entitled Afrique L’envol, focused specifically on the tremendous growth taking place within the continent. The release of this issue coincided with the launch of Le Monde Afrique, an edition of the paper exclusively released in and for Africa.

I’m so thankful for having had the chance to work with Elise Pailloncy on these illustrations, and I loved having the opportunity to do so. The portraits featured above are of Ntone Edjabe, a Cameroonian writer, journalist, and founding editor of Chimurenga Magazine, Jason Njoku, founder of iROKO, Abdul Tejan-Cole, an award-winning Sierra Leonean human rights lawyer, & Mamane, a Nigerien humorist and columnist.
