I spent most of September and a good part of October painting this for Rutgers University’s Alumni Magazine – they had a special 250 year anniversary issue, to celebrate the 250th, you know, year of the school’s existence. This ended up as a double page spread for a story celebrating the changing nature of Rutgers’s identity over the ages, from the signing of the charter by Queen Charlotte of England (married to George III) to present day. We thought the best way to do that would be by focusing on the students and alumni themselves.
