WEDNESDAY. Very cold, -16, not even a joke. Snowy, sunny and gorgeous.
I opened my email today not waiting for any miracles. Yet I received 2. And I mean TWO. One from a published who said : “ wow – thats fucking great!!! perfect!” (yes, they do swear) , one from a museum asking me when I’m planning on delivering my work.
Excuse me ? What work ?
Over two months ago I submitted (after being encouraged by a local art professor and an artist herself) my Virginia Woolf watercolor portrait (22×30″) to the prestigious 2014 Biennial Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend. Sometime at the end of October they were notifying finalists but due to my current crazy work days I had not paid attention. Today I realized I’m one of the finalist!
I can’t say enough about it! I even offered my cleaning services (like cleaning floor on my knees) because of the mad energy spike thanks to the news! I’m super excited, very proud and just can’t contain myself! She’ll be hanging in West Bend in January and February, between oils, textiles and sculpture. My watercolor is one of 3 watercolors.
Ah! Best day ever.
