I’m big on eyes - windows to the soul and all that jazz. ...

I’m big on eyes – windows to the soul and all that jazz.  They’re important elements and something that can make or break a design.  So, I was watching The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and ran into a stumbling block when Ultron says the already famous “…no strings on me” bit. Why? Well, one of the truly great components of Ultron’s original design is his visage – cold, mechanized, soulless, and terrifying.  The perfect face to match Ultron’s view of humanity and the superheroes who would protect us.  In short, I was bummed to see those red pupils.  We connect with human-like eyes and, in my mind, the audience simply should not feel a common connection with Ultron.
