Nathan Smith, an award-winning illustrator and designer represented by AAARep, was recently commissioned by 3MSMusic to design the album cover art for “Get Hip” by Albie Donnelly’s blues band, Supercharge.

The album artwork conveys a 1960s retro style featuring a subtle palette of blues, whites and greys. In Nathan’s signature style, the image was sculpted and rendered in ZBrush using a flat cut-out technique. “Get Hip” features guest musicians Molly Duncan from The Average White Band and Tommy Blaize from The BBC Strictly Come Dancing Band; the album is set to release worldwide on January 18th, 2019.

With his unique, distinctive style, it’s no wonder that Nathan’s work has been internationally recognized. He often combines 3-D rendering, sci-fi and fantasy elements to produce brilliant digital images that enrapture the audience and tug at viewers’ imaginations. Although Nathan utilizes a range of media to create his art pieces, he now primarily sculpts in digital clay and composes his characters in digitally created landscapes.
