Ever since the election of Trump, I’ve felt like my whole world has been upended: everything I thought was wrong, there’s nothing to hold on to, everything is upside down. I’d discovered that my country is the opposite of what I thought it was. I feel like I’m floating around in space, untethered; everything is a lie, nothing is real, I’m drifting, untethered.

After a couple of months, I began painting in acrylic. It’s the first time since I was a teenager that I’ve painted on canvas, and the first time in years that I painted on anything other than a computer. I just had a strong urge to paint the Old School way.

I’ve put a  Painting section on my website that has a number of them. I feel very driven to paint these, they’re very specific in my mind, the images and objects and situations. Often I don’t know what they’re about, but later I scope it out.
