Here’s a quick teaser of some images I did for a BBC performance taking place at the end of the month. If you’re in or around London and you’re into operas about Auguste Piccard crossing the alps in a balloon, then get your tickets now! It’s a pretty interesting story and imbibed with the grandeur of scientific adventure that doesn’t really exist now. When do you ever see the headline: “Scientist embarks on poorly conceived plan, fraught with danger!” Never, right? In the 30s, that was like the front page story on like a daily basis. People just quit caring after a while. When Einstein wrestled a bear to prove relativity, it didn’t even make the “lifestyles” section.
