One year ago, I was commissioned by Gallagher & Associates to create seven portraits in my graphite style for the new Tennessee State Museum in Nashville.

The museum opened to the public just this past Fall, and my drawings are featured in the recently completed permanent exhibit, “Forging a Nation: The Trail of Tears Story” which (according to their literature) delves into the stories of Southeastern Indians and Overmountain People, enslaved and free African Americans, the Creek War and War of 1812, Andrew Jackson, the Trail of Tears, President Polk, westward expansion, and more.

The original drawings were about 8″ x 10″, and as you can see in the photo below, they have been enlarged to about ten times that size.
