It was such an honor to be selected as one of the two illustration contest winners at this year’s SCBWI-IL Illinois Interactive Conference.

Ellice Lee, Art Director, Philomel selected a wonderful illustration by Andrea Hill Fitzgerald.

And I was selected by the absolutely fabulous Vanessa Brantley Newton for my piece shown below.

Vanessa got emotional when talking about my illustration it spoke to her on such a deep level due to its vibrant colors, the connection/story taking place between the wolf and the tree. It will truly be a moment I remember for the rest of my life.
