For the LA Times ENVELOPE section, which covers Hollywood. They needed something to illustrate the notion of “real life heroes in movies”. From the article, written by Randee Dawn, “With movies like ‘Hidden Figures,’ ‘Birth of a Nation,’ “Hacksaw Ridge,’ ‘Sully’ and ‘Loving,’ writers must walk the fine line of explaining why this person or people were worthy heroes â€“ while reminding us that they are not demigods.” I decided to picture Snowden as an ambivalent angel, and Sully Sullenberger contemplative and wrestling with self-doubt.
