The publishing industry is changing and Variety Magazine is responding. Last month the entertainment trade publication stopped printing its daily newspaper and relaunched as a weekly glossy magazine. Variety teamed up with Vasava to give the cover of the first issue a smart yet artistic makeover.
The subject of the debut cover is Kevin Tsujihara, the new head of Warner Brothers studio. Tsujihara’s role at the WB is to move to company forward with digital distribution, which is where the concept for the cover came out of. “Our idea was to add digital elements/effects to the portrait to show a transformation or hint at digital’s role in his hiring,” says Vasava.
