I adopted Cooper in March of this year, just before the world shut down. He has brought me so much happiness and joy each day since,. I knew the theme of this years holiday card would be about sharing his joy and after being inspired by some styles I have been seeing from other artists on Instagram I went for it.

I created the art digitally in Photoshop and then printed it out onto cold press watercolor paper greeting cards.. They had a nice weight and textured feel to them and really finished off the look of the artwork.

It had been a while, too long really, since I worked on personal artwork just for myself and the joy of creating. After a hard year for many, and the challenges I faced with the storm damaging parts of my house, I just hadn’t been in the right headspace to draw. But lately I had the creative urge coming back now that I am feeling happier and lighter myself.

So after finishing off the cards and getting them mailed out last weekend. I decided to revisit the artwork for fun this weekend and tackle it in a vector art style using Adobe Illustrator.

I always find it fascinating to look at the wire frame mode of completed art in Illustrator.
