International artist Alexis Marcou has been doing freelance work since 2007 for a wide range of clients such as Cisco, Atomic Skis, Acco Brands, Hewlett Packard, Gatorade, Air Jordan and Nike.
Alexis gradually acquired his skills without any special training and through the use of books, tutorials and good old-fashioned practice. The result? A self-described “fragmented style” that merges traditional lines and conventional media, such as ink and watercolor, with geometric shapes and digital elements.
Alexis enjoys evolving his craft through his technique, which involves a different process every time. He also avoids the use of filters and effects in Photoshop, making his work “experimental without being unfamiliar.”
Here is a great interview with Wacom which goes into further detail on Alexis’ background, technique and much more.
