Swindler & Swindler for La Thé Box

The Directory of Illustration is proud to highlight work from Swindler & Swindler, represented by Folio Illustration Agency.

For the past three years, Swindler & Swindler has had a beautiful collaboration with La Thé Box. Each box is an extraordinary and elaborate work of art that transports the tea drinker to magical places.

NOVEMBER 2022 BOX: THE ORIENT EXPRESS TRAIN

From the Artist: Our third collaboration… It is the dreamiest, most complex illustration I have realized for La Thé Box.

Once again you can find a foil, this time a copper one, that goes well with the blue chosen for the train and the rest of the illustration. It is once again an invitation to travel through the senses, to discover new smells and treats.

As always, I like a good frame around my composition to wrap everything together. On the upper side, you find the rising sun and the cloud surrounding the title. So glorious. Then the train goes out of the mountains. It invites you to open the box and discover what is inside. The touch of light brought by the copper foil brings extra light and magic to the scene.

CHRISTMAS 2021 BOX: RÊVE DE NOËL

From the Artist: It [was] our second illustrative collaboration with La Thé Box team and it just gets better and better every year. This one is THE Christmas box, the one every subscriber is waiting for! We dreamed big and used two colors, two marvelous greens plus one gold foil. The result is beyond expectation. It is a mix between an ancient fairytale book and a Slavic treasure box. It is the golden gate to the enchanted forest. By opening this gate, not only you will find magical animals and Christmassy plants but you will also discover a universe full of flavors and delicacies.

Be my guest!

NOVEMBER 2020 BOX: Jules Verne

From the Artist: [This was] our very first collaboration. It was on the theme of Jules Vernes. I had to imagine something that could transport you away. An illustration capable of making you travel around the globe while you drink a cup of tea. Jules Verne’s universe helped me as everything already existed: hot air balloons, marvelous creatures, undersea worlds… I just had to choose. As always, I like a strong frame to envelop my composition. Then, a lot of stars is always a good idea. Then the sailing boat, to take you on this extraordinary adventure!

For this box, as well as the others, I had to illustrate the outside of course, but also the inside, a notebook, and three tea pouches. I loved working on these because it works as a set. Every piece is a component of the universe. All together they create the magic.
