THE WORK

Illustrator: Christian Dellavedova

Client: Small Cinema Poster for the “Back to the Future Day”

Agent: AAA Rep

From the Artist: As a fan of the Back to The Future saga it was a pleasure for me to illustrate a poster for the “Back to the Future Day” for a small cinema near my studio.

I tried to find the right idea to create a connection between the first movie of the saga and the second one, commemorating the date in which Marty McFly traversed the space-time continuum in Back to the Future Part II.

Since I’m also a great fan of the EC Comics titles like “Weird Science” and “Vault of horror” for their fabulous cover designs and the same “Weird Science” is directly quoted in the first movie (remember when Marty during the first space-time travel landed in the barn?) I take advance of the chance to create a lookalike EC Comics about the first Back to the future using the EC style.

In the poster we see Marty’s shadow (with the baseball hat) from the second movie reflecting on the cover of the comics which tells a small bite of the adventure lived from Marty, his family and Doc Brown in the first one.”
