About the Work: James was tasked with creating a series of illustrations in his distinctive palette, depicting urban-dwelling families discovering the great outdoors. It was a phenomenon that came to prominence as a consequence of the COVID pandemic – the desire for family time and an escape to open, natural surroundings. In this piece, James depicts family engaging in photography, with children exploring new found surroundings.
