The Association of Illustrators (The AOI), in partnership with the Directory of Illustration, recently announced the Shortlist for the World Illustration Awards 2022!
The shortlist has been selected from over 5,000 entries from 77 countries following a rigorous and competitive judging process.
The Shortlist presents some of the most exciting illustration work from around the world. It is an important way for commissioners to discover quality illustrators and a celebration of the illustration industry.
The Shortlist includes projects from all ten WIA categories by both New Talent and Professional Illustrators. The categories cover major sectors in which illustration is commissioned, including several areas of Publishing, Editorial, Advertising, to the more specialized Site Specific and Science & Technology categories, with self-initiated projects presented alongside campaigns commissioned by globally-recognized brands.
All shortlisted projects are in contention to win, and on November 1st, 2022, the Category Winning and Highly Commended projects in each category will be announced online in a live broadcast event. Two Overall Winners, to be announced by Oliver Jeffers, will receive cash prizes.
Directory of Illustration artists made an impressive showing in the WIA Shortlist this year, with almost 20 artists making the Shortlist! Over the next several weeks, we will be featuring the Directory of Illustration artists and their shortlisted projects.
