WORK SHOWCASE: Christian Dellavedova

This week, the Directory of Illustration highlights work from Christian Dellavedova, represented by António Adrião Artist Representative (AAARep).

THE WORK

Illustrator: Christian Dellavedova

Client: Internazionale

Agent: AAA Rep

From the Artist: I was asked by Internazionale to illustrate an article about the New York International Auto Show.

The article showed a tired Auto Show with less innovation, explaining the biggest companies’ new models and talking about the difficulties and the challenges the automotive market is facing.

I tried to represent the main topic in the article using a very simple line vector art inspired by the automotive planet.

For my conceptual image I was inspired by the most iconic image of Superman ripping open his shirt as a symbol of strength in contrast with the flat tire as a symbol of the weakness of the Auto Show.”
