The Artist Guild of Lockport: Show Catalogs

When I got involved as a volunteer board member of The Artist Guild of Lockport the show catalogs were being created page by page within Adobe Illustrator. This method worked fine but causes some challenges and extra work if a piece/page needed to be added into the book as the guide/margins were set based on left or right facing pages.

So I took on the task of creating the template within InDesign. This allowed us to be much more efficient with the creation of the show catalogs as the “master” layouts took care of adjusting for left and right-facing pages. From that point forward it was quick and easy to add art, make changes to the layout of the pages, and so on. This layout has since been used for all show catalogs produceds since.
