THE WORK

Illustrator: Christian Dellavedova

Client: Internazionale Magazine

Agent: AAA Rep

FROM THE ARTIST: I’ve always been fascinated by hot rods and their subculture, especially by the American artist, Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, creator of the hot rod icon Rat Fink, later resumed by the father of skate art, Jim Phillips. If we mix these influences with my favorite Australian art collective, Mambo, the results couldn’t be more obvious. A resurrected Edgar Allan Poe corpse driving a wooden hot rod coffin. This is the new illustration from my series “Ukulele’s Portraits.”
